Elementary Studio

Dear Parents & Students,

In our Montessori Elementary Studio, students work individually or in small groups, at tables or on mats on the floor. Our elementary program recognizes that students' learning and development are interconnected, encompassing diverse social, emotional, and cognitive development through a variety of ways to help them reach their full potential. In the Elementary Studio, we aim to create a supportive and engaging environment that fosters well-being and academic success as we help fill past gaps, provide present problem-solving skills, and foster a future love for learning.

Our Montessori classroom emphasizes developing real-life skills with hands-on learning, which is supported by student decisions. We look forward to themed months and prepared content, which is child-centered and brings so much life to our classroom and students.

A few of our favorite annual elementary activities are student-led and may include activities such as: a baking month, a classroom business fair, math mania, classroom guest speakers, gardening, observing the hatching of eggs, reading camps, S.T.E.M activities, making ice cream, and much more.  As classroom guides, we strive to create core memories for our students to help them add puzzle pieces to their masterpiece personalities! We want every student to feel brave, creative, unique, and important!

A little about our Elementary Studio -

A Prepared Environment: We offer a carefully designed classroom that encourages exploration and discovery. Our Montessori classroom also emphasizes developing real-life skills with hands-on learning, which is supported by student decisions.

The Curriculum: Teachers follow an aligned curriculum and utilize the IXL learning program to support students at every step of the learning journey. IXL's curriculum is designed to adapt to each student's learning style and pace, providing personalized support and challenges. Students explore videos, lessons, games, workbooks, remediation, printable activities, and in-depth explorations. IXL focuses on helping students master skills and concepts, rather than just completing assignments. IXL analytics provide real-time insights to support every student, identifying areas that need reteaching and helping teachers form small groups for targeted instruction.

Our Goal: To look at each student's unique needs and tailor instruction and support each individual accordingly. To do so, we follow traditional curriculum integration: Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills, as well as structured learning surrounding a daily 35-minute math block, reading, and writing blocks. We also offer technology integration, as well as, a Montessori-inspired education, which encompasses the freedom to explore, create, and choose a work of their own based on 5 subjects: math, language arts, social studies, science, and art.
